Arts are essential to vital communities

Body

The East Central Regional Arts Council strongly believes that the arts are essential to the creation and sustenance of thriving and vital communities. The arts should be supported by the participation of many people in arts activities, organizations,  and by public and private funding. In fact, it is a part of the ECRAC's goals that the public value of the arts is understood and acted upon by community members, leaders, and policy makers. Therefore we consider advocacy an important part of what we do.

ECRAC'S FUNDING SOURCES
As one of 11 regional arts councils in Minnesota, ECRAC is largely funded by an appropriation from the Minnesota State Legislature and the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, in partnership with the Minnesota State Arts Board. ECRAC also receives generous support from The McKnight Foundation

ECRAC receives over 100 grant requests and awards about 70 each year. ECRAC also provides numerous skill building workshops and networking opportunities for artists and organizations.

Arts advocacy isn't something that is done for you, it requires your involvement to make sure your interest in the arts is known!
