The Gift of Nettles

Derek Nicholas, Red Cliff Band of Ojibwe will be sharing with class participants all about nettles. Through this program participants will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for nettles, gaining key insights on how this plant is used for food, medicine, and utility. Attendees will gain hand-ons practice making fiber from nettle and learn the skills to make such fiber into twine. With the twine we will fashion bracelets as a memento as a remembrance of the knowledge and skills learned at this class.
