Kent Nerburn at the 210 Gallery and Art Center-The Art Of Words

Kent is an author of 16 books and perhaps his best known work is the semi-autobiographical series beginning with “Neither Wolf Nor Dog,” There are four books in this series with a fifth in the works. These books dramatize the intersection between dominant culture and Native American spirituality, history, thought, and trauma by focusing on the story of a Lakota elder named Dan who chooses Kent as the man to write his life’s stories. These gripping and intimate books pull the reader through the central conflict and trauma at the heart of Native America today.
