Body

Every month, the Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community brings in 3 songwriters to perform at the Hallberg Center for the Arts in an "In The Round" format, performing their original pieces of music. This month features the music from Phil Berbig, Alicia Kay & Joyann Parker live on the Freemore Stage! Phil Berbig is a favorite throughout Minnesota. He has a unique style blending a wide variety of popular songs arranged for a solo guitar player/singer and an occasional harmonica. Having picked up a guitar for the first time in 25 years when he was in his mid-40’s he realized he had always been in love the art of performing music in front of a crowd. Alicia Kay is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. IN 2004 she joined her first band with her sister Angela: Amethyst Blyss. This gave her the courage to start her own band, The Changeups, in 2009. The Changeups cut their first album in 2014, another in 2017 and are working on the third now. They have since become a staple in the Minneapolis music scene. Joyann Parker: With roots in the church and a solid foundation of musical education, Joyann Parker found her authentic voice later in life and created her own blend of roots music that combines soul, R&B, gospel, jazz and traditional blues styles. Parker has been a steadily rising star on the Midwest music scene and now brings her full range of talent as an accomplished singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter to national and international stages. Admission is Free. Songwriters in the Round starts promptly at 7pm. Seating is limited, so please arrive early!
