An Americana Musical Novella Captures the Heart of Small-Town Life! Northfield singer-songwriter Tim Goodwin’s latest album, “This Town”—a bold and intimate folk/Americana musical novella is set to be released September 28, 2025. “This Town” invites listeners into an evocative world crafted through song and narration, following the intertwined journeys of Danny and Katie from youthful innocence to the bittersweet wisdom of empty nesters. Free entry with a suggested donation. A Story Told in Song: Ten Chapters of Life and Love Unlike an ordinary album, “This Town” unfolds as a cohesive narrative across 10 original tracks. Each song is a story, along with a narrative, chronicling the lives of Danny and Katie—two individuals growing up and falling in love in a small United States town. Their joys, heartaches, and milestones rise and fall with the seasons of their lives, painting a portrait that is both personal and universal. About the Artist Tim has built a reputation for connecting audiences with heartfelt stories and resonant melodies with thoughtful songs a listener might put into their back pocket to continue to think about and ponder. Tim’s musical roots are in folk and Americana. His warm baritone voice traces love, loss, and tells stories from all walks of life. His musical influences include Greg Brown, John Prine, Eliza Gilkyson, John Gorka, and Steve Earle. His songs communicate the truths he sees in the world, whether the truths he sings of are easy or difficult. His 2020 album The New American Way begins with “My Heart Aches,” a co-write with Eliza Gilkyson. He followed that with the albums, Together, released in 2023, and A Set of Stories in the fall of 2024.
