The Hallberg Center for the Arts Proudly Presents: The 60th installment of Songwriters in the Round on our OUTDOOR MUSIC STAGE (weather permitting) - the Sunset Schooner! This evening features the spectacular music of Becky Kapell, Clare Doyle and Molly Brandt Admission is Free. If indoors, seating is limited, so please arrive early. Otherwise, chairs will be provided, but feel free to bring a comfortable camping chair!

"Three Friends Creation" opens on Friday, August 1, with a public artists’ reception from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Light appetizers and beverages will be served. The gallery exhibition will continue throughout the month of August. Regular gallery hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free, and the gallery is open to the public.

Survivors of the Fire: Stories and Songs Remembering the Great Hinckley Fire of 1894 is an “Incredibly moving,” (Lettered in Theatre) “Epic,” (Cherry and Spoon), hopeful, and at times surprisingly joyful new musical commemorating the 131st Anniversary of the Fire: featuring traditional music of the era, harrowing first-hand accounts of the survivors, and moving tributes to those who perished. It’s a celebration of life— its joys and sorrows— and a heartening reminder that those we hold dear are never lost.

This hands, on-visual arts course will explore a variety of artistic media and techniques, culminating in a student-let art display. August 5th- Sketch It! Discover the Joy of Sketching. Learn basic sketching techniques, find inspiration and get tips for a creative sketch book. August 6th- Paint It! Learn mixing and blending techniques, water painting and turning sketches into paintings. Ink It! Learn to use alcohol inks. Explore how to use inks in art, create abstract designs and experiment with vibrant colors. Public is invited for Show and Tell, 11:30-12:00 on this day.
