Introduction to Nature Journaling

Explore and record the world around you through our Nature Journaling series with Ashley Bozman. All workshops are FREE with registration, and all the art supplies you need for each session will be provided! For this first session, we will meet at Robinson Quarry Park located on Old Wagon Road in Sandstone. Please bring sturdy shoes, protective clothing, a full water bottle, and bug spray are encouraged for the Robinson Quarry Park hikes. We will be exploring the new trails, and will journey where out group feels confident.

Altered Books

Altered Books are discarded books that have been re-imagined and re-created! Writer and English teacher Mary Lovold will guide participants through writing poetry and exploring prose, using portions of the discarded book! Artist and Art teacher Deb Hannu will share creative and structural techniques for collage, drawing, painting, weaving, even sculpting, into your altered book! Spinny wheels? Yep! Drawers? Certainly possible! Get started on a book that will be your very own reflective journal, album, book, or event tome! Class Fee: $60 (includes all materials!)

Senior Artistic Outreach; Watercolor Lanterns - Hallberg Center for the Arts

This fun and creative project is designed especially for seniors! In this month's class we will be painting our own watercolor lanterns. You'll learn several watercolor techniques and will be able to embellish your work with paint pens and 3D butterflies. This class is excellent for beginners, and we will have everything you need to make this fun project. This class is a fun way to make friends, and get creative in a relaxed, supportive environment. Hallberg Center for the Arts presents Bend Towards Chaos

Bend Towards Chaos is a Solo Exhibit in the Underground Gallery, featuring the artwork of Avery Danger Hunter. Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday, April 23rd, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Enjoy an evening of art and community featuring live music by Tom Mobry. We will be serving light refreshments, including delicious pies from the Village Inn, coffee from White Pine Coffee, and local craft beer from Uncommon Loon Brewery. Avery will be raffling off two works of art: one on opening night and another during the remainder of the exhibition. Raffle tickets are available for $5 each.
