Ruckus in the Bearbrush

The ruckus is a rowdy trio of skilled multi-instrumentalist musicians who are full of shenanigans, stories, and song. Their inspiring music is loved by audiences of all ages. They bring forth long forgotten folk tales, history, and music from the Appalachian territories of the United states. Through their story and song they transport audiences back to a simpler time.

Vasaloppet Art Show

The Kanabec County Art Association is pleased to announce that Minnesota artist Surelle Strike is our Gallery Guide for the Vasaloppet Art Show and Gift Gallery 2025. Surelle is a painter and printmaker. Whether she is using paint or ink, she incorporates visual narratives, symbolic details and storytelling to create a connection with viewers in powerful and personal ways. She attended classes at Minneapolis College of Art and Design and Columbus College of Art and Design and began painting in 2018.

The Spirit Of Energy: Exploring the Abstract

The exhibition, titled The Spirit of Energy: Exploring the Abstract, will spotlight Ms. Steinert’s large-scale, equine-themed mixed media pieces, which were created with horses present during the artistic process. This dynamic show marks the culmination of a grant-funded project generously provided to Ms. Steinert by the East Central Arts Council through the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. In addition to Ms.

Snowshoe at Franconia Sculpture Park

Join Franconia staff on February 8 or March 1 at 1:00pm for a guided snowshoe tour of the sculpture park, followed by hot chocolate and apple cider around the fire pit at Franconia Commons. Participants will get a snowshoeing how-to from event partner Wild Rivers Conservancy before heading out on a wintery tour of Franconia, where you’ll traverse our snow-covered prairie and view contemporary sculptures in the landscape. Registration is $25/person, and includes a snowshoe rental, courtesy of Wild Rivers. You are welcome to bring your own snowshoes if you choose.
