In Art Show at the Hallberg Center for the Arts

A juried and judged art competition, the Ninth Annual In. Art Show is presented by the Wyoming Area Creative Arts Community at the Hallberg Center for the Arts! This event is sponsored by our very own Dave Freemore - Thanks, Dave! We will have the In. Art Show Opening on Thursday, July 18th from 4-8PM. At this time People’s Choice Voting will begin. Public Voting will run from opening night thru August 21st, the day before the Award’s ceremony. The Judging and Awards Ceremonies will take place on August 22, 2024. The three judges will collaborate in person prior to the ceremonies that day.

The three judges will collaborate in person prior to the ceremony that day to chose the award winners. Starting at 4PM there will be time to view the art and listen to music by artist/musician Ava Lambert. There will be light snacks, beverages & craft beer donated by the Uncommon Loon.

Art for All Ages and Abilities!

The Hallberg Center for the Arts would like to cordially invite you to come create.  AT A NEW TIME!  The third Wednesday of every month from 3:30-7:30 PM we will have open studio time for all artists; Stay for the whole session or drop in when you can and stay as long as you want. So come paint, draw, scrapbook, or just sit around, surrounded by other artists. Register today!

Cyanotype - FREE - Senior Artistic Outreach

This month we are using a type of camera-less photography called cyanotype to create intricate natural designs on a bandana with plants and feathers!

Instructor Surelle Strike will lead students in Designing their bandana, and watching at the sunlight exposes the negative space around the objects. Students will leave with a one of a kind printed cotton bandana! This class is great for all skill levels, but this particular version of the class is geared to seniors only. 

Kids Can Be Artists Too: Scrape Art - FREE

Free Saturday Art Class for All Ages & Abilities (even the young at heart)!

August 24th, 2024 1-3PM

Come to the Hallberg Center for the Arts to experience a free art experience the last Saturday of every month in 2024!

This art class is for all ages and abilities. Class begins with a brief, inspiring picture story read by local storyteller and tutor, Ashley, and then is followed by an art project led by local artist Surelle. (Parents need to stay with younger children, please!)

Watercolor, Tips, Tricks and Techniques – Teen Art Club

This painting class is just for TEENS!

Join us for an afternoon to learn the basics of watercolor, and a few cool tricks! Teens will create a watecolor sampler project, and will be able to experiment with new materials.  This class is great for all levels, and the instructor will work with each student on their project.

Date/Time:Tuesday August 13th, 2:30-4:30pm 

Class Cost: $25

Beginners Basket Weaving

Create a 12x12x6" basket in this fun, engaging class for beginning basket weavers! You will make a basket to take home, along with a strap. The basket will have a flat bottom the top of the basket will have a lash to make it look finished. We will supply all materials, and if you aren't able to finish the first night of the class, you can come back the next night and Jim will be available with supplies to help out.
